    Additional software


    You can install additional software on your Dedicated Hosting Platform, provided it's compatible with the server's software.


    The installation will be billed on the basis of the work performed, in increments of 15 minutes: €60/hour (nights, weekends and public holidays: €90/hour).

    There are two Dedicated Hosting options:

    • Purchase a SQL Server licence belonging to Arsys.
    • Supply your own edition of SQL Server and the corresponding licence.

    If you choose burstable bandwidth and exceed your data transfer limit, the extra GigaBytes are billed at €2/GB (in increments of 1GB).

    You can activate them from the Control Panel, with or without a licence to download your email with Microsoft Outlook. You'll only pay for the mailboxes you've signed up for and all upgrades will be free for the first 60 days from when you activate Exchange. Each new mailbox adds 3 GB of disk space that you can also use for your public folders.

    Email services are hosted on a Cloud Platform, independently from the Managed Server, so you get better service availability. And you can also enjoy Hybrid Mail, compatible with Exchange Mail

    As a Hosting Reseller you can create hosting plans to resell depending on your clients' needs and offer them a Control Panel personalised with your corporate image (styles, corporate colours, logo…).


    From here, they'll be able to manage their resources (mailboxes, FTP accounts, DNS, traffic statistics, etc.).

    We'll maintain and replace the hardware at Arsys.

    • Every 2 minutes, the RAM, CPU, and disk, as well as the website, email and database services, are monitored.
    • All problems resolved immediately, 24/7.

    In your Dedicated Hosting Control Panel, you'll find the following features:

    • Unlimited FTP accounts to access all your domains.
    • Manage permissions: change the permissions set for your domain's public directories and files (in the HTML folder). Windows, from the Control Panel. Linux, through the "CHMOD" option of the FTP program.
    • Virtual directories: each domain can forward visitors to the Internet address of your choice.
    • Restricted directories: create private websites with user names and passwords.
    • Personalized error pages: you can personalize the pages displayed when a HTTP error occurs (for example: 404. Page Not Found).

    You can make and test changes on a website under the same conditions as on the real site, without affecting the site's traffic.

    On the Dedicated Linux Hosting Platform you'll enjoy all the applications we offer with our hosting services (WordPress, Joomla!, Moodle, Ruby on Rails, etc.).


    You'll also be able to customise the most common settings for PHP configuration variables (such as Memory_limit, Register_globals, etc.) from the Control Panel.

    On the Dedicated Windows Hosting Platform, as well as being able to use pre-installed ActiveX components such as AspEmail, AspUpload, AspGrid, AspJpeg and AspPDF), you'll be able to register your own ActiveX components.

    On the Windows Server 2003 Standard Edition Platform you'll have your own Windows Media Server that lets you provide multimedia areas for each domain, with both on-demand (delayed coverage) and broadcast publishing points (live broadcast).

    • Dedicated Linux Hosting Platform: MySQL and PostgreSQL.
    • Dedicated Windows Hosting Platform: MySQL (all platforms) and SQL Server 2005 Express Edition (only for the Basic and Advanced Platform).

    Give your clients their own Control Panel where they can configure a presentation page, their own DNS or forward their domain to the target website of their choice.

    Each domain's website can be organised by creating the subdomains of their choice for different sections, such as blog.mydomain.com, forum.mydomain.com or shop.mydomain.com.

    From your Dedicated Hosting Control Panel, you can automatically generate the sitemap.xml file and send it to the major search engines (Google, Yahoo, Bing...) to improve your website's position.

    We can provide you with a SQL Server licence for your Dedicated Hosting Platform, or you can use your own. We currently have licences for the following SQL Server 2005 products: Express Edition, Workgroup Edition and Standard Edition.


    Note: SQL Server Workgroup Edition or Standard Edition can only be installed on servers with a Windows Server Standard Edition operating system.

    • The anti-virus filter is responsible for deleting infected messages sent to your email addresses.
    • The advanced anti-spam filter categorises your received emails based on their likelihood of being spam so the email system can filter them.
    • The anti-phishing filter is responsible for deleting phishing messages sent to email addresses registered to your domain.

    So you can control how much you spend on your Dedicated Hosting Platform's data transfer, you can set an automatic alert to warn you (by email) when you reach your chosen data transfer limit. This will help you avoid exceeding the data transfer limit you've paid for.
